Denbighshire County Council has achieved Disability Confident Level 3 – Leader status, the top award under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.

The Disability Confident scheme recognises employers who take action to recruit, retain and develop disabled employees.

As a Disability Confident Leader, the council will keep promoting inclusive recruitment, making workplace adjustments and supporting the development of disabled staff.

It will also share good practice with partners and suppliers.

Catrin Roberts, head of corporate support services people at Denbighshire County Council, said: “Achieving Disability Confident Leader status is a significant milestone for the council.

“It reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported to reach their full potential.

“We are proud to be recognised as a leader in this area and will continue working with partners and our communities to promote inclusion and create opportunities for disabled people.”
