Raindrop appoints Guy Opperman as non-executive director

Raindrop has appointed Guy Opperman, former Pensions Minister and Financial Inclusion Minister, as non-executive director to its board.
In his previous role he backed tech disruptors to help people improve their finances.
Opperman said: “I am delighted to be joining a great British tech disruptor that is transforming people’s lives and finances. I look forward to supporting Raindrop’s continued strong growth.
“I have been really impressed with the work of the founders who have built an innovative platform that delivers real impact to both UK savers as well as pension providers.
“As Raindrop continues to transform individual people’s finances, it will also prove to be the vital add-on to the UK master trusts and other wealth providers who operate in this space.”
Opperman added: “A private sector solution like Raindrop will be further enhanced by the eventual arrival of the Pensions Dashboard in the UK, whenever that will be.
“Raindrop has already demonstrated its positive impact, as it continues its scale-up journey I believe it will cement its position as the go-to pensions tracing player in the UK and be the next British tech success story.”
Vivan Shridharani, co-founder and CCO at Raindrop, said: “Attracting one of the most respected voices in pensions is a major coup for Raindrop and highlights the importance of our solution in tackling the issue of a lack of transparency in pensions.
