Currys has nearly tripled its headquarters (HQ) at WeWork’s 10 York Road in Waterloo, responding to workers’ demand for more flexible working.
The company has expanded from 6,700 square feet to 18,200 square feet, supporting its hybrid working model that lets teams decide how and when they work from the office.
Currys said this move reflects staff preferences and changing business needs.
A recent survey of Currys staff found 93% said hybrid working had a positive impact on their work-life balance, while 92% said it helped their productivity.
Research also found 91% felt it improved their wellbeing and job satisfaction.
The new space at 10 York Road features practical design, breakout areas and WeWork’s hospitality services.
Staff can book desks in advance and use over 40 WeWork locations in the UK, or hundreds worldwide, through the All Access membership.
Paula Coughlan, chief people, communications and sustainability officer at Currys, said: “We’re really proud of our hybrid model, which has delivered fantastic benefits for our colleagues, our customers and our business.
“Our colleague engagement is at record levels – helped by the flexibility offered by hybrid working.
“And our most recent financial results show that hybrid working and commercial success can flourish together.”
Coughlan added: “That’s why I’m delighted we’re expanding our footprint here at our WeWork HQ, which will continue to give our colleagues access to brilliant facilities, and even more space for creativity and collaboration, right in the heart of London.”
Luke Armstrong, regional president, EMEA & APAC at WeWork, said: “This move is a strong example of how flexible workspace enables businesses to adapt, scale and grow with confidence as their needs evolve.
“By leveraging WeWork’s built-in flexibility, Currys has almost tripled its footprint while remaining in the same high-quality and central location at 10 York Road in Waterloo.
“The benefits are significant: the company can continue delivering a consistent, best-in-class workplace experience, supported by our amenities and services, without the disruption that typically comes with an office relocation.”
Armstrong added: “More broadly, their expansion at our flagship location underlines Currys’ ongoing commitment to investing in workplace experience and reflects their forward-thinking approach to how and where their teams work.”
