EducationScape has backed the development of ‘SaferSpace’, a workplace reporting app designed to help employers deal with harassment, discrimination and misconduct.
The move follows fresh pressure on UK employers after the Worker Protection Act became law, which puts a duty on them to prevent sexual harassment or face tribunal claims, fines and reputational damage.
SaferSpace was first developed in 2024 by Ruth Sparkes (pictured, left) and Sunita Gordon (pictured, right).
EducationScape has since supported the team to develop the platform further, making it suitable for sectors including healthcare, retail, hospitality, construction and professional services.
Shane Mann, CEO of EducationScape, said: “HR teams are already managing complex cases across fragmented systems.
“SaferSpace brings everything together in one place, from incident reports to compliance dashboards.
“It’s a practical, ready-to-go system that supports transparency, governance, and consistency.”
The app lets staff submit anonymous or named complaints on a mobile-first platform, sending concerns straight to HR or safeguarding leads.
Reports are time-stamped, can include documents and follow custom workflows to match company policies.
A built-in artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, trained on the UK’s Equality Act, helps users figure out whether their experience is something to report.
The system is meant to guide people through the process.
Additionally, SaferSpace provides employers with a live dashboard showing behaviour patterns, trends by site and case progress, aiming to help HR teams track culture and compliance.
Gordon said: “People often don’t speak up because they don’t think anything will change. SaferSpace is about showing them that it will.
“The system supports staff and gives employers a fair, reliable way to respond.”
