Chancellor Rachel Reeves has set out a new initiative to help young people move into work or further education.
Reeves said: “We guarantee that every young person will be offered a place in college, an apprenticeship, or personalised job support.”
Reeves stated that young people aged 18 to 21 will be able to claim paid work benefits after being on this support for 18 months.
The initiative is focused on those who have faced difficulties finding work or training.
It aims to close gaps in education, training and employment by making sure there are real opportunities for all.
The initiative is part of wider government plans to back skills training and improve support for the next generation.
