Zurich UK has launched a virtual work experience programme for 250 young people aged 16 to 19.

The scheme will run from 17th July to 18th July 2025 and is open to candidates from anywhere in the UK.

Successful applicants will take part remotely and learn about different roles and departments at Zurich UK.

They will build skills in communication, problem solving, resilience, leadership, and teamwork.

The programme is designed to give a clear picture of working in insurance and to show the range of jobs available at the company, which employs 5,000 people in the UK.

Participants will hear from professionals in the industry as well as those early in their careers.

The virtual format aims to remove barriers linked to cost and travel, making work experience more accessible.

Michelle Ransome, talent acquisition manager for Zurich UK, said: “From cost-related barriers to travel challenges, in-person work experience just isn’t possible for some students.

“By offering out virtual work experience a level-playing field is created, allowing students from across the UK a chance to experience what life is like at Zurich and what a career in insurance could look like.

“Virtual work experience still allows students a realistic insight into the business and gives them a chance to hone their skills and get them excited about the start of their careers.”
