Following World Menopause Day on 18th October, Tandem Bank has announced a new partnership with Henpicked to strengthen awareness and education around menopause and menstrual health in the workplace.

The collaboration forms a key part of Tandem’s ongoing commitment to an inclusive and supportive environment under its wider inclusion and diversity strategy and its commitments to the Women in Finance Charter.

Henpicked works with hundreds of employers across the UK to improve menopause awareness, training and support, and also leads the Menopause Friendly Accreditation – an industry-recognised standard of excellence for menopause at work.

Through its membership, Tandem is building on existing initiatives that demonstrate its commitment to being a menopause and menstruation-friendly employer.

These include the introduction of Menopause Champions to provide peer support, the creation of an internal Menopause Support Hub, and updates to HR policies and frameworks to ensure consistent guidance for employees and managers.

The initiative supports Tandem’s wider goal of improving gender representation within the organisation.

Having signed HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter, the bank aims for at least 35% of senior leadership roles to be held by women by the end of 2026.

It is also developing gender-balanced shortlists for senior roles, launching affinity groups for gender balance and working parents, and continuing investment in its Women in Leadership Programme.

Neil Chandler, CEO of Tandem Bank, said: “Partnering with Henpicked marks another important milestone in our journey to be an inclusive employer.

“We believe every stage of life matters and want all employees to feel heard, supported, confident, and understood.

“We’ll be rolling out training to support management with the knowledge and confidence to support their teams effectively and with empathy.

“But the partnership will also be relevant for everyone at Tandem – greater understanding helps us all to be more compassionate colleagues and people.

“Henpicked will help strengthen our infrastructure, policies, and awareness that ensure no one at Tandem has to face these experiences alone or in silence, and that we are truly great place to work.”

Deborah Garlick, founder and CEO of Henpicked and Menopause Friendly, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tandem to our Menopause Friendly membership, joining the community of employers leading the way.

“Their plans for mandatory manager training, clear policies and practical support show real leadership – and we know they’ll make a meaningful difference to so many people.”

Tandem views its partnership with Henpicked as the foundation for continued progress in supporting employees through every stage of life.

“Future plans include rolling out mandatory training, launching a dedicated Menopause Framework, and expanding its wellbeing initiatives to ensure it remains an inclusive and supportive place to work.
