The Ministry of Defence has named 307 organisations that received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award for 2025.
The scheme recognised companies that went beyond their armed forces covenant promises, supporting reservists, veterans and military families in the workplace.
Firms awarded typically offered paid leave for reservist training, recruited and retained veterans, gave flexible help to military families, and had leadership that backed the armed forces covenant.
Some of the ERS winners include AIB Group Holdings Ltd, Carnival UK, Dawsongroup Plc, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service, University of Portsmouth, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Leeds Trinity University, RSPCA Hull and East Riding, The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and more.
Major General Jamie Gordon, CEO of the Council of Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Associations, said: “These Silver Award winners are trusted allies of defence.
“They don’t just talk about support—they show it, every day, through flexible policies, visible advocacy, and long-term commitment to those who serve.
“This is about more than good intentions, it’s about practical, sustained support that strengthens our national resilience.
“It is very pleasing that they have been recognised for all they do for our reservists, veterans and cadets.”
