EWE NETZ GmbH, a leading German distribution system operator, has partnered with OverIT, a global leader in field service management software, to transform its workforce management processes. The collaboration, facilitated by Live Reply GmbH, aims to streamline the operational activities of EWE NETZ’s extensive energy networks, which include around 83,000 km of electricity and 57,000 km of gas networks.

The deployment of the OverIT NextGen Platform will digitise and automate processes such as planning, task assignment, and field execution. This will involve 650 technicians and enable EWE NETZ to ensure resources are deployed efficiently, allowing employees to focus on their core competencies while reducing complexity and boosting overall performance. The platform also offers a user-friendly and intuitive interface to support the workforce.

Ole Flörcken, head of business development at EWE NETZ, said: “Looking on our existing and upcoming challenges as well as our mission to use best practice solutions for our customers we are happy to start our journey with OverIT and take the next level of workforce management!”

The collaboration comes as part of EWE’s strategic response to a changing energy landscape characterised by increased competition, evolving customer expectations, and the adoption of new technologies such as EV charging stations and photovoltaic systems. The partnership seeks to address challenges like the growing skills shortage while supporting long-term sustainability, optimising resource utilisation, and improving satisfaction for both customers and employees.

Christian Falk, associate partner at Live Reply GmbH, said: “In collaboration with OverIT, we are empowering EWE NETZ to streamline and digitise key processes across their extensive energy networks. We are proud to support our customers in overcoming key industry challenges by leveraging new technologies.”

Matteo Fagotto, senior director of customer success at OverIT, added: “We are honoured to have earned the trust of an industry leader like EWE NETZ. We look forward to supporting their mission of driving innovation and operational excellence.”
