Bupa has been named headline partner for AllBright’s Motherhood Works campaign, which aims to reshape conversations around motherhood, work, ambition and women’s mental health.
The campaign will bring together events and editorial content focused on challenging perceptions around the “motherhood penalty” and promoting the concept of “motherhood power”.
The partnership comes as Bupa continues to expand its Mindplace mental health centres across the UK, with plans to open 70 locations by the end of 2027.
A flagship Motherhood Works Summit will take place in London on 19th June, featuring discussions around career ambition, identity, emotional load and workplace support for mothers.
As part of the event, Bupa will host a dedicated Mindplace hub designed to support mental wellbeing through creative activities.
Research from Bupa’s Wellbeing Index found that 58% of women did not feel supported by their employer when returning to work after a career break.
The data also showed that 32% were offered mental health resources or counselling, while 24% were given access to women’s health programmes.
The report also found that flexible working hours, childcare support, access to women’s health programmes and mental health support were among the key measures women said would help keep them in the workforce for longer.
Nicole Goodwin and Sophie Catto, joint Managing directors of AllBright everywoman, said: “We are deeply committed to redefining what it means to be a working mother, moving the conversation away from limitation and towards the resilience and ambition that motherhood inspires.
“Bupa’s dedication to supporting women’s mental health makes them the perfect partner for this important campaign.
“When women are supported to prioritise their wellbeing, they are better able to thrive in every area of their lives, yet too many are still being held back by outdated structures and perceptions.”
Jo Paice, clinics director at Bupa, said: “We are committed to supporting women’s health in the workplace. We know that different life stages can have an impact on a woman’s career and in turn on her mental health, and it’s really important that organisations have the right tools in place to support them, otherwise they risk losing valuable talent from the workplace.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with AllBright on their Motherhood Works campaign, helping to change the narrative around working mothers and supporting them with their ever-changing healthcare needs.”
