Over one million young UK workers aged 25 to 29 are experiencing a quarter-life crisis, according to a study by LiveCareer UK.

The report found that workplace stress, job dissatisfaction, and rising living costs were key factors.

Nearly half of Gen Z and Millennial workers reported financial insecurity, with over 50% living paycheck to paycheck, increasing career pressures.

The study also noted that 29% of workers aged 25-34 had taken time off in the past year due to mental health issues caused by stress.

Additionally, 26% of workers were actively considering changing careers, with 31 emerging as the typical age for such a move.

Over 60% said work-life balance was their top priority when choosing a new role.

Financial insecurity was common, with 48% of Gen Z and 46% of Millennials affected.

LiveCareer UK experts advised those feeling uncertain about their careers to take a measured approach.

They recommended steps like stepping away: using eligible leave or sick days to physically and mentally distance from daily work duties to gain perspective.

The also recommended a skills review: analysing own hard, soft, and software skills to identify hidden professional strengths.
