Guide Dogs has partnered with the UK Careers Fair to promote volunteering and highlight inclusive employment.
The charity will attend over 40 careers events across the country, aiming to raise awareness of its work and encourage people to get involved.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Guide Dogs team and dogs at some events, where volunteering, donating, and recruitment opportunities will be discussed.
The partnership will see Guide Dogs attend events in locations such as Glasgow, Truro, Belfast and Canterbury.
The UK Careers Fair will continue its work to bring accessible career advice and live opportunities to jobseekers across the UK.
Emma Brown, local volunteering attraction officer at Guide Dogs, said: “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to reach visitors at The UK Careers Fair in a number of locations.
“Volunteering can help people develop skills which are transferrable into the workplace, for example roles within our fundraising groups allow volunteers to use and build upon their organisational skills organising events, coordinating their fellow volunteers and using their communication skills to spread the word about Guide Dogs.
“Training is provided for all volunteer roles, and for those volunteering with our dogs, participating in our training programme might be of interest to those seeking a future career in dog handling. We also cover pre-agreed expenses.”
Kathryn Ward, chief people officer at Guide Dogs, said: “At Guide Dogs, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where our volunteers and staff can grow, thrive, and make a meaningful impact.
“We are united by our passion for making a difference to people living with sight loss.
“With a range of exciting volunteer and paid opportunities across the organisation, Guide Dogs offers a rewarding and fulfilling journey where you wake up with purpose every day.”
Jordan Lawson, managing director at The UK Careers Fair, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Guide Dogs.
“Their presence brings a unique energy to our events, and their mission to improve accessibility and change lives through independence and confidence aligns perfectly with our own values. We’re proud to support them in connecting with thousands of people across the UK.”
