Aldi confirms pay rise for all store staff and extends paid breaks

From 1st March 2026, store assistants nationally will see starting pay rise to £13.35 per hour, with colleagues inside the M25 receiving £14.71 per hour.

Aldi is set to increase pay for thousands of store staff following a £36m investment in pay and benefits. 

From 1st March 2026, store assistants nationally will see starting pay rise to £13.35 per hour, with colleagues inside the M25 receiving £14.71 per hour. 

Pay increases with length of service, reaching £14.30 per hour nationally and £15.03 inside the M25.

Store apprentices will also see a pay boost, with rates at £12.02 per hour outside the M25 and £13.22 inside the M25. 

These rates are above the minimum wage for first-year apprentices.

Giles Hurley, CEO of Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do.

“That’s why we’re making such a significant investment in our promise to never be beaten on pay for our colleagues.”
