Notify Technology has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered software for analysing workplace accidents.
Notify Spark uses AI to speed up accident reports and investigations, aiming to improve root cause analysis and turn incident data into insights firms can use.
The product draws on Notify’s large data set and can generate safety briefings, executive summaries and toolbox talks following accident investigations.
More than 912,000 incidents, including accidents, injuries, near misses and hazards, have been logged on the platform over five years.
Incident analysis is the initial AI-powered module to go live, with plans to extend AI to risk assessments, method statements, audits and inspections.
Duncan Davies, co-founder and CEO at Notify, said: “Notify set the standard for mobile-first safety reporting and this latest innovation is our most exciting yet.
“We’re now adding huge power to the tens of thousands of data points that our clients collect every month.
“We are excited to see the technology supporting clients in delivering their safety goals.”
Andy Dumbell, co-founder and chief technology officer, said: “This is just the start of a wave of exciting AI-powered features we’re bringing to life.
“We’ve partnered with some of the UK’s biggest employers to make sure the technology delivers real impact, and the feedback’s been phenomenal.
“Companies say it is breaking new ground, helps teams write sharper reports, turns data into insight, speeds up safety briefing and sparks ideas they hadn’t considered before.”
Notify, based in Newcastle, recently secured £1.5m for the rollout of AI, backed by Mercia Ventures, the North East Fund, Calculus Capital and private investors.
Ian Wilson, head of Mercia Ventures’ Newcastle office, said: “AI is being introduced across industries of all types to improve efficiency.
“However, it also has potential to address one of the most important business challenges of all – keeping people safe.
“Notify Spark represents the next evolution in digital safety management and will solidify the company’s position as a leader in safety tech.”
Richard Moore, co-head of investments at Calculus Capital, said: “Notify’s AI-driven approach represents an exciting evolution in digital safety management.
“Transforming data into clear, actionable insights helps organisations not only respond to incidents more effectively but prevent them altogether.
“We’re delighted to back a team whose innovation has such clear commercial and social impact.”
