Deliveroo has introduced a new benefit for its UK riders, offering free 24/7 access to virtual general practitioner (GP) consultations.

This initiative makes Deliveroo the first food delivery platform to provide such service.

Riders can access UK-registered GPs via phone or video through Teladoc Health, ensuring they have medical advice when needed.

The service is provided in partnership with insurance firm Chubb and healthcare provider Teladoc Health.

It allows riders to discuss medical concerns with a GP at times that suit them.

This new benefit is part of Deliveroo’s broader package, which also includes free insurance, sickness cover, and financial support for new parents.

Camilla Kater, senior vice president of care and rider at Deliveroo, said: “We are proud to lead the way in providing innovative benefits that truly support our riders’ needs.

“By ensuring our riders can access medical advice from a GP 24/7, we’re reinforcing our commitment to rider welfare and setting a new standard for the industry.”

Dominic Howard, director of strategic partnerships at Teladoc Health UK, said: “At Teladoc Health, we are proud to provide Deliveroo’s riders with 24/7 access to our virtual GP services, ensuring they have round-the-clock support for their health and wellbeing.

“This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to empowering individuals with convenient, high-quality healthcare solutions that fit seamlessly into their busy lives.”
