Principality Building Society has been ranked 27th in the 2025/26 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list, which was announced at the Inclusive Awards on 27th November.
The index, compiled by Inclusive Companies, recognises organisations that demonstrate consistent commitment to diversity across all areas, including gender, disability, age, LGBTQ+, race, faith and religion.
Now in its tenth year, the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list highlights employers who embed inclusive practices throughout their organisation.
Principality has climbed steadily in the rankings, moving from 49th place in 2023 to 32nd in 2024, and now achieving 27th position, marking a rise of 22 places over two years.
The Society said the improvement reflects its long-term commitment to creating a workplace where all colleagues feel they belong.
Principality’s approach to inclusion is embedded in its broader strategy through its “Inclusivity by Design” framework, which applies inclusive thinking to leadership, colleague support, and the design of services for Members and communities.
Its colleague networks play a central role in shaping policy and ensuring lived experience informs decision-making.
This year, the Society has partnered with the Sunflower initiative, a global movement aimed at improving support for people with non-visible disabilities.
Principality said the partnership will help it provide more accessible customer experiences, with dedicated training for colleagues to recognise the symbol and adapt conversations and service delivery accordingly.
Gemma Bowen, chief people officer at Principality Building Society, said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised once again in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List.
“As a responsible mutual organisation, our purpose has always been to champion a fairer society.
“Seeing our ranking rise year-on-year reflects the commitment of our colleagues who bring this purpose to life, ensuring everyone feels that they can belong and bring their most authentic selves to work.
“While we’re delighted at this years’ ranking, inclusion is not a milestone for us – it’s a journey, and this recognition reinforces that we’re taking the right steps for the future.”
Paul Sesay, founder and CEO of Inclusive Companies, said: “Every year, the standard rises as organisations demonstrate ever-stronger evidence of their commitment to truly inclusive cultures.
“The IT50 List celebrates employers who go beyond initiatives and policies, and instead embed diversity and inclusion into the fabric of how they operate.
“Our judges look for consistency, authenticity and long-term impact, and this year’s entries show just how many organisations are investing in meaningful, sustainable change.”
