Atom bank earns Great Place to Work certification following major investment in people and culture
Atom bank has been certified as a Great Place to Work after achieving a Trust Index Score of 82, recognising its workplace culture and people-focused initiatives.
Atom bank has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work after securing a Trust Index Score of 82, marking a significant milestone for the North East-based digital bank.
The recognition follows a period of growth and sustained investment in its workforce, reinforcing its position as one of the region’s leading employers and, according to Trustpilot, the UK’s most trusted savings bank.
The accreditation comes as Atom completes the move of its near 600-strong workforce into The Pattern Shop in Newcastle, its new headquarters designed to support recruitment, onboarding, training and collaboration.
The bank has retained its fully flexible working model alongside the relocation. It also continues to champion innovative workplace practices, having introduced a four-day working week with no loss of salary in November 2021.
The model, which at the time made Atom the largest UK business and the first bank to adopt such an approach, has had what the firm described as a hugely positive impact on its workplace culture.
Atom has expanded its support for employees through enhanced family leave policies and wider inclusion initiatives.
These include the introduction of Menopause Champions and the development of the Atom Women’s network, which now has more than 100 members.
Over the past 12 months, the bank has welcomed 57 new colleagues, including eight graduate trainees, while also developing internal talent.
