Thrive launches scheme to reward staff for health habits

The company says the aim is to boost productivity, improve goal attainment and help staff achieve a better work-life balance.

Thrive has launched its ‘Wellness Era’, a scheme designed to reward employees for prioritising their wellbeing and building healthy habits. 

The company says the aim is to boost productivity, improve goal attainment and help staff achieve a better work-life balance by encouraging people to focus on their health.

Cassie Gasson, co-CEO at Thrive, said: “We’re not afraid to try new things. At Thrive, we believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and their wellbeing is directly linked to our success. 

“We also understand that true wellbeing is a continuous journey, not a fleeting trend. 

“That’s why we’re committed to cultivating a sustainable culture of wellbeing and we’re constantly looking for innovative ways to improve their lives, both inside and outside of work.”

Gasson added: “Our ‘Wellness Era’ is just the latest experiment in our ongoing quest to create a productive and fulfilling workplace, and we’re incredibly excited about its potential.”

Staff can opt into the scheme, which uses wearable tech from Whoop to track activity, sleep and stress. 

If they complete wellness challenges and reach personal targets, they can get cash rewards. 

Examples include getting high sleep scores, doing 45 minutes of exercise on a Monday, step count competitions, and cycling mileage.

Those not wanting to use tracking tech can take part in team sports, claim cashback for massage therapy, and join activities like a weekly 5k run club. 

Additionally, there are also options to enter subsidised fitness events or join group dog walks. 

The scheme extends to families, with prizes for those taking part in park runs.

Support is also available when the system flags issues such as sleep problems, with Thrive sending out wellbeing kits or spa vouchers.
