Admiral Taverns, which operates over 1,420 community pubs across the UK, has launched a new online portal designed to simplify the process for those looking to take on a pub. The portal offers applicants a streamlined experience, allowing them to search for pubs based on criteria such as location, financial commitment, and pub style.

Applicants can submit online applications, upload business plans, and track the status of their applications in real-time. The platform also provides information on the support Admiral offers, including business guidance and steps required to successfully run a pub.

Ceri Radford, head of recruitment and operations support at Admiral Taverns, said: “We are thrilled to launch our brand-new applicant portal which will streamline our recruitment process for both Admiral Taverns and potential applicants. We’ve worked hard to ensure the process is as simple as possible, while also providing those interested in running their own pub with personalised information, ensuring that we match the right person to the right pub. We always want great people running our pubs, but most importantly, we want to make sure individuals run the right pub for that person.”

The launch of the portal comes during one of the busiest periods for recruitment. According to Admiral, applications typically increase by 50% in January, reflecting a broader trend where many people explore new career opportunities at the start of the year.

As part of its recruitment process, Admiral provides ongoing support to publicans, including access to its “seven steps to sales success” training programme, which covers key areas such as retail management and finances. Applicants can also receive hands-on training at existing pubs through Admiral’s Proper Pubs division before taking on their own business.
