Poundland and the Retail Trust join forces to protect staff mental health
Staff will get access to Retail Trust’s wellbeing helpline, counselling, financial help and support for young people in their care.
Poundland has teamed up with retail industry charity Retail Trust to give its 12,000 staff more support for their mental health.
Staff will get access to Retail Trust’s wellbeing helpline, counselling, financial help and support for young people in their care.
Managers will be given continuing professional development (CPD) accredited training to help support their teams.
Retail Trust will also bring in a generative artificial intelligence (AI) powered dashboard to help Poundland spot wellbeing trends.
Staff will get dedicated resources to help them deal with abuse at work.
Barry Williams, managing director at Poundland, said: “We’re pleased to have recently briefed our colleagues on our new partnership with the Retail Trust to support their mental health and wellbeing.
“Our colleagues do an amazing job, but we know working in retail, especially on the shop floor, can at times be challenging.
“We’re committed to doing all we can to support them and we look forward to the resources the Retail Trust will bring.”
