The CIPD has announced a new strategic collaboration with Acas aimed at strengthening support for HR and people professionals as the UK employee relations landscape continues to evolve.
The partnership comes at a time of significant change in employment law and practice, including the introduction of the Employment Rights Act 2025, which places greater emphasis on worker voice, consultation and engagement with trade unions.
The collaboration is intended to help organisations and people teams build the skills and confidence needed to navigate these developments effectively.
As part of the agreement, CIPD members will gain access to a new jointly developed learning programme, ‘Working effectively with trade unions: Acas in collaboration with the CIPD’.
The course is designed to provide practical guidance on managing union engagement in modern workplaces, combining Acas’s experience in dispute resolution with the CIPD’s evidence-based approach to people management.
David D’Souza, director of profession at the CIPD, said: “People professionals need access to training and CPD opportunities that genuinely helps them navigate change.
“Partnering with Acas on this course enables us to offer members insight and support that strengthens confidence, improves capability and reflects the realities of modern employee relations.”
