Simplyhealth has launched Simply Dental, a new digital-first workplace dental benefit aimed at UK businesses and their employees.

The scheme offers money back for routine check-ups and hygiene visits, covering up to 100% of a dentist’s receipt up to annual limits.

Employees can use any NHS or private dentist, and the plan includes worldwide dental emergency cover and a 24/7 helpline.

The 2024 Oral Health Survey found that 26% of people said dental pain had affected their work, with 18% saying it had hit their productivity.

One quarter of adults admitted they did not visit the dentist for a check-up at least once every two years as recommended.

Of those not attending, 38% said cost was the main reason.

The Oral Health Foundation reported last year that NHS dentistry costs had increased around 50% over the past decade.

Previous Simplyhealth research found 90% of people with a dental plan attended the dentist at least every two years, compared to 70% without cover.

Simply Dental also provides access to third party discounted and self-pay health and wellbeing services, including at-home diagnostic testing and eye health.

The benefit is managed through an app, making claiming straightforward for employees and keeping admin low for employers.

Marc Singh-Jones, head of commercial product and partnerships at Simplyhealth, said: “Employers recognise the value that workplace health benefits provide, not just in attracting and retaining staff, but ensuring their workforce has access to preventative healthcare.

“A healthy workforce takes fewer sick days, is more productive, and feels happier at work.

“We have developed Simply Dental, our new digital-first workplace dental benefit, to be affordable and flexible to meet the needs of different businesses and their diverse workforces.”
