SMP Europe has announced that two of its engineers, George Ottowell and Adrian Overton, have been recognised in the first Automechanika Birmingham ‘Thirty Under 30’ Awards.
The awards, launched at this year’s show, celebrate the brightest young talent shaping the future of the UK’s £21bn automotive aftermarket.
Hosted on the Motorvate Ignite Arena stage, they spotlighted professionals across engineering, marketing, product development and customer service.
Ottowell, an electronics engineer, and Overton, lead product development engineer, were selected from more than 50 nominations across the sector.
Martin Turner, marketing director at SMP Europe, said: “It’s fantastic to see both George and Adrian receive this recognition.
“Their passion, drive and technical expertise perfectly reflect SMP Europe’s values and engineering excellence.
“We’re committed to developing future talent in the market and this accolade shows the strength of the staff coming through our business.”
The ‘Thirty Under 30’ initiative was launched in partnership with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and was headline sponsored by Comma.
Both Ottowell and Overton have contributed to product innovation, quality engineering and the development of award-winning solutions such as SMP Europe’s Intermotor-branded AdBlue injectors and its expanding component ranges. Their recognition underlines SMP Europe’s investment in training, in-house development and future talent.
