New Forest District Council has launched an Apprenticeship Hub in partnership with New Forest Business Partnership (NFBP).

The project was funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to help local businesses find skilled workers and support people of all ages in accessing apprenticeships and training.

The Apprenticeship Hub supports the council’s Skills Action Plan, with a focus on lifelong learning, inclusive growth, and key sectors such as tourism, construction, and green industries.

Councillor Derek Tipp, portfolio holder for planning and economy at New Forest District Council, said: “The Council is pleased to be working with NFBP to deliver the Apprenticeship Hub.

“This collaboration brings together local expertise and a shared commitment to supporting businesses and helping residents gain the skills they need to succeed.

“The Apprenticeship Hub is a key example of how we’re using the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to invest in projects that make a real difference to our communities and local economy—supporting skills development, creating opportunities, and strengthening our workforce for the future.”

Matthew Lawson, chairman of NFBP, said: “We’re proud to  deliver the Apprenticeship Hub on behalf of the Council, building sustainable foundations for skills development across the New Forest’s diverse business community.

“This partnership is about unlocking opportunity and helping our local workforce thrive.”
