Shoosmiths has announced a £1m bonus for staff if they collectively use Microsoft Copilot artificial intelligence (AI) prompts one million times in the new financial year.
This incentive forms part of the firm’s efforts to integrate AI into its operations and is linked to its wider bonus pool.

Shoosmiths’ AI initiative is supported by a partnership with Microsoft and includes training, peer support, and incentives to encourage AI use.
The goal is for each employee to use Copilot four times a day to meet the prompt target, with usage tracked and shared transparently.
Additionally, Shoosmiths is implementing new roles like innovation leads and data manager to support the shift towards digital capability.
Jackson added: “This is not just about how many times someone uses AI—it’s about how well we use it and the benefits it will have for our clients.
“We’re giving our people the tools, the space and the encouragement to explore what’s possible—together. And that’s where the real power lies.”
