Knowsley Council has today (11th March 2025) announced that it is offering funding to employers who want to hire a new apprentice.
To qualify for the Apprenticeship Grant, recruits must be Knowsley residents and hired through the Knowsley Apprentice team.
Lisa Jewell, business manager at St Albert’s Catholica Primary School, said: “We decided to hire an apprentice for our school office, offering a young person the chance to secure a full-time job where they can learn and earn while bringing fresh ideas to our workplace.”
“The Knowsley Apprentice Team has been helpful throughout the advertising and interviewing process, providing ongoing support for both us and our apprentice.”
Councillor Tony Brennan, cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: “Our Knowsley Apprentice programme has been a key part of the council’s work to improve employment opportunities in the borough for a number of years.
“We have many success stories and overwhelming praise from employers about the impact apprentices have had on their organisations.
“I would encourage anyone who is thinking of recruiting an apprentice, to get in touch with our team.”
