The latest research from CV-Library found that logistics and distribution was the second-biggest source of seasonal jobs between September and December 2022 to 2024.
Out of more than 2.8 million job postings, one in five festive roles came from the sector, with an average hourly wage of £15, making it the tenth highest paid.
The most common roles were warehouse operatives, making up 23% of all logistics and distribution temp jobs, followed by delivery drivers at 22%, postal delivery drivers at 12%, mail sorters at 11% and van drivers at 7%.
Top-paying seasonal jobs in the sector included class 1 drivers earning £29 an hour, HGV drivers on £28, cream packaging operative at £25, HGV 1 driver at £24, and class 1 shunter at £22.
