Ryan FowlerAutomobili Lamborghini has announced the departure of Umberto Tossini, who is stepping down from his role as chief people, culture and organisation officer after almost two decades with the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based manufacturer.
Tossini leaves to pursue new professional challenges, with chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann temporarily assuming his responsibilities until a successor is confirmed.
Tossini joined Lamborghini in 2006 as human resources director, later expanding his remit to encompass people, culture and organisation.
Working closely with the board of management, he played a key role in several of the company’s most significant milestones, including the localisation and launch of Urus production at the Sant’Agata Bolognese facility – a landmark project developed in collaboration with local and national authorities that helped cement Lamborghini’s position as a leading Italian manufacturer.
He also spearheaded the DESI (Dual Education System Italy) initiative, the first dual vocational training programme in Italy, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2025.
More recently, Tossini and his team renewed the company’s supplementary agreement, widely regarded as a benchmark for industrial relations and innovative working-time organisation.
Lamborghini credited Tossini’s leadership with helping shape its inclusive, people-centred culture and supporting its rapid workforce expansion from a few hundred employees to more than 3,000. Under his guidance, the company’s HR practices combined technological innovation with social progress, earning multiple awards including twelve consecutive Top Employer certifications.
Automobili Lamborghini thanked Tossini for his “effective and exemplary” contribution to the company’s achievements and wished him success in his future endeavours.
