Škoda has celebrated European Diversity Month for the fifth May running, and has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive practices.

The theme for this year was ‘Your bubble is one of many. Get to know others.’

Škoda beat its target for women in management in 2024, with women now making up 20.4% of management staff.

Maren Gräf, board member for people and culture at Škoda, said: “Diversity is the foundation of who we are at Škoda Auto.

“Every individual is unique, and it is our responsibility to ensure that everyone is treated fairly, regardless of age, background, religion, gender, family status, or sexuality.

“Just as our customers come from diverse backgrounds and our portfolio caters to a wide range of needs, we must also embrace this diversity within our company.

“The reason: diversity brings varied perspectives and experiences to the table, leading to more creative and innovative solutions that better meet the needs of our customers.”

The activities encouraged employees to discover new perspectives, getting to know people outside their workplace bubbles to boost respect and empathy.

Škoda held a series of special events for Diversity Day on 13th May, with groups such as Škoda Proud, Internationals@Škoda, Women@Work, and Škoda Academy running themed booths.

Competitions such as the HandBike Challenge were also held, boosting awareness and suport of people with disabilities.

Following an independent assessment, the company was recently given a 94% score for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), with 530 employees partaking in its disability support programmes last year.

Škoda continues to support inclusive organisations, such as Czechitas, which supports Czech women in tech, and Prague Pride Festival.
