Michelin has launched several major initiatives designed to support its employees globally and foster innovation.
The company has introduced a ‘living wage’ globally, ensuring that all Michelin Group employees receive a salary that meets the basic living standards as outlined by the United Nations Global Compact.
This commitment is certified by the Fair Wage Network, confirming all employees earn at least the living wage, which covers essential needs and allows for savings.
“Michelin has been a signatory [to the United Nations Global Compact] since 2010,” and with this initiative, it continues to build on that commitment. Additionally, Michelin has rolled out an extensive lifelong learning program, investing over €240 million annually in training to ensure continuous employee development across all levels.
The company has also unveiled the redevelopment of the Parc Cataroux site, an extensive project in Europe aimed at boosting innovation. This includes the Quartier des Pistes, set to transform Michelin’s former tire testing tracks into a new district by 2028, emphasising community and environmental sustainability.
Florent Menegaux, on the occasion of Michelin Media Day 2024, said: “Michelin is transforming. The Group is committed to an ambitious value-creation approach, based on economic and financial performance, and at the same time on actions to safeguard the planet and to foster people’s development. These three dimensions are mutually beneficial and interdependent. We can only achieve our ambitions if we take the human dimension fully into account. This means, that at Michelin, ‘we care about giving people a better way forward.’”
