Sovereign Network Group (SNG) has confirmed that chief people and transformation officer, Sally Hyndman, will retire at the end of June 2026 after five years with the group.

Alexia Evans, currently investment and asset strategy director, will take over after working alongside Hyndman from April 2026 to support the handover.

Evans has led SNG’s approach to asset management, sustainability and sales.

Joe Marshall has also been confirmed as chief investment and development officer after holding the role on an interim basis since May 2025.

Marshall has led the growth of the Southern region since joining SNG two years ago, focusing on regeneration projects and local partnerships.

Before SNG, Marshall held senior roles at Peabody, managing large housing and regeneration schemes in London and the South East.

In his new post, Marshall will oversee the delivery of 25,000 new homes in the next decade and lead strategic asset management, including retrofit and regeneration work to meet SNG’s Homes and Place Standard.

Marshall said: “I’m proud to take on this role at such an important time for housing delivery. We have ambitious plans to create high-quality homes and thriving communities, and I’m looking forward to continuing the great work of our teams across investment, regeneration and development.”

Hyndman said: “It’s been a privilege to help shape SNG’s transformation and culture over the past five years.

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that Alexia will continue to drive our people and transformation agenda forward.”

Evans said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this role and to have the opportunity to build on the incredible work Sally has led.

“Our people and transformation strategy is at the heart of SNG’s success, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to continue that journey.”

Mark Washer, group CEO at SNG, said: “I’m delighted to confirm Joe’s appointment as chief investment and development officer.

“He has already made a significant impact as part of our senior leadership team and in the last few months in this role on an interim basis.

“Joe’s operational insight, sector experience and commitment to quality housing make him ideally placed to lead one of the most ambitious investment programmes in the sector.”

Washer added: “Sally has been instrumental in helping to define who we are as an organisation, leading our people and transformation journey with vision, compassion and integrity.

“While we’ll be very sorry to see her retire, I’m pleased that Alexia will be stepping into the role.

“She brings deep experience in change and transformation and will build on the strong foundation Sally has created.”
