Pertemps people development director Andy Long has been named one of just 19 new members across the UK to be accepted into the City & Guilds of London Institute for 2025.

He joins an elite group of trainers recognised for their excellence, innovation and commitment to vocational education through the institute’s Membership Awards.

Launched in 2024, the awards honour professionals who make a lasting impact by developing skills, confidence and opportunities for learners.

Long, who has been with the West Midlands-based recruitment and training business for 23 years, was selected following a rigorous assessment process lasting several months.

Andy Long said: “Being awarded Membership of the City & Guilds Institute is a proud moment that reflects two decades of passion for helping people grow, lead and succeed through learning.

“It validates my belief that when training is engaging, inclusive and aligned to real-world outcomes, it can transform both people and performance.”

Of the 19 awardees, 13 work for organisations that have previously received the Princess Royal Training Award, highlighting a continued dedication to training excellence.

Chief assessor Fenella Tallon said: “What stood out this year was each tutor and trainer’s passion and commitment in ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed regardless of whether they worked for a college, training provider or commercial organisation.

“Not only did they showcase their knowledge and high level of expertise, they also showed how they’re going above and beyond to make a real difference to their learners.”

Each recipient will receive Membership of the City & Guilds of London Institute (MCGI) and will be formally celebrated at an awards ceremony in London in 2026.

Earlier this year, Pertemps chair Carmen Watson was inducted as a fellow of the institute, the highest honour it confers.
