The National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF) has launched a set of free checklists to help self-employed people working in hair and beauty.
The checklists cover four areas: businesses looking at chair or space rental, self-employed chair, space, or room renters, home-based professionals, and those starting out on their own.
NHBF said the checklists are for guidance and not a definitive answer, aiming to highlight what is already in place and where extra support may be needed.
Anyone in the hair, barbering, beauty, and aesthetics sectors can use the checklists.
By going to the NHBF website, users can answer a short questionnaire, then get a summary with further guidance.
Cathy Weston, director of quality and standards at NHBF, said: “We’re not here to judge. We’re here to support.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to raise standards, support individuals, and protect the future of our sector by giving professionals the tools, knowledge, and confidence to run their business the right way.”
