Salary sacrifice provider EZOO has called on its staff, customers and the wider EV community to celebrate World EV Day on 9th September by sharing positive experiences and helping to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.

With this year’s theme “share the spark: a day to convey EV positivity”, the business said drivers should highlight the benefits of EVs and help to counter misinformation.

Lash Saranna, co-founder and chief executive of EZOO, said: “While adoption rates continue to increase, EVs clearly still have an image problem.

“From high perceived purchase prices and real-world range anxiety to a lack of confidence around the UK’s public charging infrastructure, drivers are unsure whether or not to make the move.

“These concerns may have rung true in the past, but EVs have progressed significantly since then. Many models now boast a range surpassing 300 miles, while there are upwards of 82,000 public charge points across 41,000 locations (compared to just 8,300 petrol stations).”

He added: “When it comes to purchase costs, a number of subsidies (such as the Electric Car Grant) are bringing prices on par with petrol and diesel alternatives.

“What’s more, if you specify an EV through salary sacrifice, you can expect to save up to 60% against traditional lease costs.

“These facts, figures and statistics should be enough to convince any driver to make the switch, but what the industry really needs is personal endorsement from passionate EV owners.

“That’s why we’re calling for the community to come together this World EV Day and champion the transition to electrification.”

World EV Day is regarded as the largest emobility campaign of the year, bringing together companies, policymakers and drivers to raise awareness and support the shift to electric vehicles.

Organisers are encouraging drivers to share their experiences and insights with friends, neighbours and colleagues across the UK.
