Leyton Orient Football Club has appointed Dan McLoone as head of recruitment as part of plans to develop and strengthen the club’s off-field operations.

McLoone joins after 18 years at Millwall, where he began in the analysis department and later became head of technical scouting.

Martin Ling, director of football at Leyton Orient, said: “Dan comes to us with an excellent track record, and is extremely well thought of in the industry.

“As a club, we want to continue building both on and off the field, and Dan will definitely enhance our presence in the transfer window among many other fields.

“He has learnt his trade at Millwall, and Steve Gallen (Millwall’s director of football) can’t speak highly enough of him.”

Ling added: “We’re excited to see what we can achieve together, in what I think is a really exciting time for the club.”
