CBRE secured the Carer Confident Level 2 (Accomplished) accreditation, valid until 2028, for its work to support employees who have caring responsibilities.
Judges looked at the company’s structured process, the involvement of carers in policy development, and the support and resources on offer.
Key measures at CBRE include the Carers in the Workplace Community, which gives carers a space to connect and support each other, a Carers Buddying Scheme, and Shared Experiences, which allows carers to share stories and encourage more understanding at work.
CBRE also has a carers policy that gives an extra five days of paid leave for carers.
James Brandon, DE&I and responsible business manager at CBRE, said: “As this week marks National Carers Week, it felt like a fitting time to reflect on the work we have done in this space to ensure that every carer at CBRE feels valued, supported, and empowered to balance their professional and personal responsibilities.
“We try to offer support in a number of ways, whether it’s the opportunity to take advantage of our flexible working policy, access to our Care Concierge Service or peer-to-peer guidance through our Family Network.
“The feedback from the report highlighted our well-presented narrative and strong supporting evidence, case studies showcasing meaningful impact, and uniformly high responses across all evaluation metrics.”
