A major investment by Müller UK & Ireland in its Market Drayton facility is set to create new jobs and strengthen its ties to Shropshire.
The dairy giant has received planning approval from Shropshire Council to significantly expand its operations at the site, a move welcomed by both county planners and the local town council.
The development is expected to bring employment opportunities and economic growth to the area.
Matt Potts, Shropshire Council’s service manager for economy, funding and skills, said the investment is a clear vote of confidence in the county’s potential.
He said: “Müller is one of our most high-profile and long-established local employers.
“This considerable investment is a tremendous show of confidence in what Shropshire has to offer major companies that choose to base their operations here.
“This development also promises new jobs and opportunities in one of our key sectors.”
The expansion will allow Müller to boost its capacity for producing high-quality dairy products while continuing to support the local economy and community.
The Market Drayton site, which opened in 1992, now serves as the headquarters for Müller Yogurt & Desserts and is one of three key locations the company operates in Shropshire, alongside Minsterley and Telford.
Stuart Ellison, head of engineering – operations at Müller Yogurt & Desserts, added: “We are dedicated to supporting the local Shropshire community and investing in our existing sites as we continue to focus on growth and delivering high-quality products to the nation.
“We are excited about this site development and look forward to sharing more details in due course.”
