MG Motor UK and GTG Training Group have announced a long-term partnership to establish a new MG-branded training centre in Glasgow, aimed at enhancing the skills of automotive technicians across Scotland.

The new facility will serve as a central hub for MG professionals to gain industry-recognised qualifications and hands-on experience with the latest automotive technologies. Training will be delivered by MG trainers and will focus on both technical and management-level development.

GTG’s facilities include flexible workshop and bodyshop areas, theory-based classrooms, and purpose-built centres equipped with modern tools and equipment. The partnership reflects MG’s commitment to innovation and workforce development, with plans already in place to double the training space in 2025.

Billy Hammond, GTG operations director said: “This partnership represents a huge opportunity to expand our reach, helping to shape the future of automotive technicians in Scotland and beyond.

“The training centre under the MG umbrella not only enhances the reputation of both brands but also addresses the growing demand for skilled technicians in the automotive Industry.”

Steve Baker, MG aftersales training and new product development manager, added: “With a focus on innovation, hands-on experience and cutting-edge facilities, the partnership between GTG and MG is just the beginning of a long-term commitment to excellence.

“This successful partnership highlights the importance of collaboration and shared vision in driving progress. We are excited to see where this journey takes us and look forward to further building on the success of the MG training centre in Scotland.”
