Liverpool City Council’s Ways to Work Programme (UKSPF) has offered businesses across the city its Young Person’s Guarantee Employer Grant, in a bid to help unemployed or economically inactive 18 to 24-year-olds find jobs.

Delivered by Liverpool in Work, the scheme will support employment costs up to £3,000 across the first six months of an eligible person’s employment.

To be eligible, the employer must offer a minimum six-month employment contract.

In addition, the role must be paid at National Minimum Wage (based on the young person’s age) – not the apprenticeship rate of pay.

The contract must also offer a minimum of 30 hours per week to claim up to £3,000.

Part time hours will also be considered, for example, for 15 hours the grant offer reduced to £1,500.
