Clifton Home Care, Orisec, Fox Group among those recognised at Be Inspired Business Awards

Clifton Home Care, based in St Annes, took home the Employer of the Year award at the Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs).

Global Business of the Year accolade was awarded to security solutions firm Orisec.

BIBA returned to Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom this year to celebrate the achievements of Lancashire’s business community.

With 1,100 guests in attendance, 20 awards were handed out, recognising excellence across a diverse range of sectors.

Amin Vepari, senior projects officer at headline sponsor Lancashire County Council, said: “Twelve months of hard graft have gone in to making this event what it is – the biggest and best business awards in Lancashire.”

The Business of the Year award went to Service Care Solutions, while Marsden Building Society was named Medium Business of the Year, and Holland Hall, a Skelmersdale-based hotel, won Small Business of the Year.

In the Micro Business category, Additive Manufacturing Services won, and in the New Business of the Year category, HSE Advice UK was recognised.

The Service Business of the Year award was secured by The Forest Group, and Altham-based The Senator Group earned the title of Manufacturer of the Year.

Fox Group won both Low Carbon Business of the Year and Construction Business of the Year.

Jasmin Lewis-Keedwell, director of End-point Assessment, sponsors of the Construction category, said: “Lancashire’s construction industry has a diverse number of businesses, and all have been represented at these awards.

“A personal passion of ours is supporting apprentices into the Construction industry which we know many of these businesses have been supporting, which is fantastic to see, competition was tough.”

In the Leisure & Tourism Business category, The Street Monkeys Academy was honoured for its contribution to the county’s tourism sector.

Roccia, a family-run business from Preston, won the Family Business of the Year award, sponsored by Brabners.

The Scale Up Business of the Year award went to EcoProviders, based in Longridge, recognised for its rapid growth and expansion.

Graham Engineering, based in Nelson, won the Apprentice Team of the Year award, while West Lancashire College was named Skills Provider of the Year for its educational programs.

In the Community/Third Sector Business of the Year category, Healthier Heroes, a Burnley social enterprise, was rewarded for its work supporting veterans.

QA Scheme Support Services, based in Leyland, was awarded Leadership Team of the Year for its management excellence.

The night concluded with a special honour, as Kam Kothia OBE, DL, co-founder of Star Academies, was named Lancastrian of the Year for his transformative work in education.
