The latest figures show the mean gender pay gap is now –0.77%, meaning women on average earn slightly more than men across the company.

Its latest report revealed that the median pay gap fell from 17.8% to 17.4%, linked to more women in the top pay quartile.

The report found that the gender pay gap narrowed over the year, and female representation in senior management went above the 50% target.

The mean gap stands at 18.34% - the lowest figure the business has recorded.

Employers with 250 or more staff will be encouraged to publish steps they are taking to reduce the gender pay gap and support employees going through menopause from April.

Bracknell in Berkshire had the biggest gap at 26.5%.

The figures from the University of Edinburgh highlighted lower earnings, employment gaps, and part-time work due to child rearing, plus more unpaid care, as main reasons for the gap.

New members have been brought in to tackle issues like the gender pay gap, sexual harassment, pay, progression and productivity.

Instant Offices found that the gender pay gap widened as people got older, with Men between 18 to 21 at entry level earning £520 more than women.

This figure is higher than the UK average, and 65% of organisations had no plan in place to address it.

According to the report, the overall pace of change remains slow, with at least 40 years needed for the pay gap to close at the current rate.
