Grant Thornton UK has confirmed that Abigail Fisher has returned to the firm as chief people officer (CPO).

Fisher will join in late February, following investment from Cinven and the firm’s current growth plans.

Fisher has 20 years’ experience in strategic human resources and organisational transformation in the UK and international markets.

She previously worked at Eversheds Sutherland for 12 years as HR director and started her career at Grant Thornton in 2010.

Fisher will join the strategic leadership team, reporting directly to chief executive officer Malcolm Gomersall.

She will be responsible for shaping the people experience and supporting the firm’s culture and operations.

Fisher said: “I’m thrilled to be returning to Grant Thornton, a firm that has always held a special place in my career.

“This is an exciting time of growth and transformation, and I look forward to working with our talented teams to create an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can thrive.”

Gomersall said: “Abigail’s appointment marks an important step in our journey to strengthen our culture and further enhance our people experience.

“Her experience and passion for people will help us build on what makes Grant Thornton a great place to work while modernising our operations to meet our clients’ evolving needs.”
