The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) has named Equiniti Retirement Solutions as its latest development partner.
The partnership will give 1,300 Equiniti Retirement Solutions staff direct access to PMI education, training and student membership.
This aims to create a single global standard of knowledge and practice.
Varsha Gicas, chief customer officer at PMI, said: “We are delighted to welcome Equiniti Retirement Solutions as our latest Development Partner and to support its ambition to provide consistent access to PMI education and training for colleagues across the UK and internationally.
“Professional standards are fundamental to delivering good outcomes for savers, particularly in a complex and fast-evolving pensions landscape.
“Our Development Partnership programme is uniquely placed to ensure high-quality learning and professional recognition is accessible in a practical, meaningful way.”
Gicas added: “I look forward to working closely with Equiniti Retirement Solutions and all our current and future Development Partners.”
Duncan Watson, CEO at Equiniti Retirement Solutions, said: “Over the last year we’ve been re-professionalising learning for our colleagues, with a clear focus on pensions, so colleagues feel supported, educated and proud of the profession they’re part of.
“This partnership opens the door to the PMI’s respected and recognised pathways for every single one of our administrators and technology experts.
“It will allow our people to see a career, not just a job, and will give clients confidence that we’re investing in the right skills to deliver consistently excellent service.”
Watson added: “Equiniti Retirement Solutions is both an administration and a platform business.
“Too often platform teams don’t have enough pensions context.
“The PMI partnership brings that context to our engineers and developers, alongside administrators – from qualifications to seminars, mentoring and career guidance.”
He said: “In a high-volume, fast-paced environment, making development readily available is crucial for motivation, retention and progression.”
