Half of employees now consider artificial intelligence (AI) a vital tool in their day-to-day work, with 61% of respondents expressing the belief that AI is necessary for their roles, data from Freshworks’ latest AI Workplace report revealed.
This growing recognition of AI’s value is expected to drive a significant increase in AI investment across many organisations in 2025, with a projected average investment increase of 29%.
This shift underscores the crucial role AI is beginning to play in business success.
According to the data, only 4% of UK organisations plan to reduce their AI investment this year.
A large majority of UK organisations (74%) believed that the current pricing of IT vendor products is reasonable, further facilitating increased accessibility to AI tools.
With this growing accessibility, businesses are poised to raise their spending on AI, which is expected to yield greater returns on investment (RoI) as the employee experience continues to improve.
The anticipated surge in AI investment aligns with the growing influence of AI on the workplace.
A recent survey revealed that 72% of UK workers view AI’s impact on their workload positively.
Organisations are increasingly prioritising AI literacy, with 63% planning to offer AI upskilling programs to employees in 2025.
Ian Tickle, senior vice president and general manager international at Freshworks, said: “The significant jump in AI investment by UK organisations underscores the transformative impact AI is having on business operations and employee experiences.
“As both the accessibility and resulting benefits of AI tools continue to increase, businesses across the UK are now ramping up investment levels to deliver them even greater returns.
“We’ve seen the positive impact our AI-powered solutions have on organisations across all sectors – including helping businesses streamline their operations, improve productivity, and ultimately provide better services to their customers.
