During her Sprint Statement today, Chancellor Rachel Reeves pledged £1bn to provide personalised and tailored support to help unemployed people get back to work.
This was added to £400m for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Jobcentres, in order to deliver changes “effectively and fairly.”
Reeves said this would decrease welfare spending from 2026, as part of the Government’s plan for “supporting more people back into secure work and lifting them out of poverty.”
This, she said, brings Labour’s investment in employment support up to £3.6bn.
