University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) has announced the launch of the UK’s first football scouting-related Master’s degree, the MSc Scouting and Recruitment in Football. The postgraduate programme, offered at both UCFB Wembley and UCFB Manchester, has been developed with input from industry practitioners and academic experts active in scouting and recruitment.

Scouting and recruitment have become pivotal aspects of modern football, experiencing significant growth throughout the 21st century. UCFB designed this course to meet the demands of this evolving field. Aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the scouting process, the course combines research-informed perspectives with the practical insights of professionals who have worked at top Premier League clubs and international teams, across both male and female football.

The MSc programme includes modules such as Applied Talent Detection, Identification and SelectionRecruitment Strategies in Football, and Applied Performance Feedback. These modules address every stage of the scouting process, from identifying and selecting talent to retention and securing players.

In addition to core knowledge, the programme emphasises practical skills such as presenting scouting information through interactive, media-based platforms. This allows students to enhance both their technical and interpersonal communication skills—key assets for successful careers in the field.

Students will also gain experience with data analysis tools to support informed decision-making, offering a holistic view of the entire scouting and recruitment process.

Applications for the MSc Scouting and Recruitment in Football are now open.
