McLaughlin & Harvey reported record numbers for its YouMatter Health, Safety & Wellbeing Roadshow, with the highest uptake yet from employees, subcontractors and clients.

The bespoke bus started in Cambridge and finished in Belfast, stopping at 19 sites around the UK.

People could access services such as blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol checks, stress-relieving massage, mental health support, appointments with a healthcare practitioner and lifestyle advice.

The Roadshow began in 2006 and has grown year on year.

In 2025, occupational health practitioners saw 876 people, up from 707 in 2024 and 438 in 2023.

The health check point equipment was used by 1,079 participants, a 31% rise since 2024.

This equipment helps people spot health issues early.

Referrals for blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol went down 8.6%, with some participants making changes to their lifestyle since the last tour.

Alastair Lambe, group SHEQ director at McLaughlin & Harvey, said: “Last year, more people than ever chose to ‘get on board’ and take control of their health.

“We saw lots of new faces, as well as returning participants, many of whom saw improvement in their results and others who received the referral or advice they needed to make changes.

“By providing an informal, real-time opportunity to speak to a professional and access information, we can help people lead happier, healthier lives.”

Lambe added: “As we celebrate 20 years of the Health & Wellbeing Roadshow this year, it’s great to see how far it’s evolved into an inclusive, industry-leading initiative that demonstrates McLaughlin & Harvey’s commitment to the wellbeing of not only our employees, but our supply chain as well.”
