JTL has added two new trustees to its board, bringing in extra experience from the electrical and education sectors to support its work.

Chris Prendergast and Catherine Watt have joined the board.

Prendergast started out as a JTL apprentice electrician with Lloyd Morris Electrical in 1999.

After finishing his apprenticeship, he became installations manager, leading the LV installation department and overseeing training and upskilling.

He is also involved in the health and safety, environmental and quality assurance steering group, and sits on JTL’s Quality Standards and Safeguarding Committee and Infrastructure Working Group.

Watt is HR and employee relations director at the Electrical Contractors’ Association.

She brings over 20 years’ experience in people management and employee relations, having worked as head of employee relations at the Electrical Contractors’ Association for four years.

She has also held senior HR roles at Imperial College London and Transport for London, and has been a member of the joint industry board for three years.

JTL thanked Andrew Eldred, Liz Staley and Tracey Shelley who have recently stepped down from the board.

Chris Claydon, CEO of JTL, said: “Our Trustees play a vital role in shaping JTL’s direction and ensuring we continue to meet the needs of learners, employers and the wider industry.

“We are delighted to welcome Chris and Catherine to the Board, who both bring valuable experience that will strengthen our governance and strategic focus.

“Their insight will be instrumental as we continue to enhance quality, strengthen partnerships and deliver positive outcomes for all those we serve.”

Sir John Low, chair of the JTL board of trustees, said: “JTL’s strength lies in the diversity and experience of its Board, which reflects the industries and communities we serve.

“Chris and Catherine each bring fresh insight and depth of expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to deliver on our strategy and strengthen our position as a trusted training provider.

“Their appointments ensure we remain focused on supporting our learners, employers and colleagues to achieve excellence.”
