Barnett Waddingham has appointed Andrew Simpson (pictured) as partner in its actuarial consulting team to help grow its presence in Scotland and across the UK pensions market.
Simpson joins from Mercer, where he led the Edinburgh office and focused on actuarial consulting, defined contribution, investment and strategy.
Before this, Simpson was deputy leader of KPMG’s corporate consulting team in Scotland, helping to build the pensions team from the ground up.
In his new role at Barnett Waddingham, Simpson will focus on innovation and delivering client-focused solutions in pensions consultancy, working with the actuarial consulting team to expand the firm’s capabilities and client base in Scotland.
Simpson said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Barnett Waddingham and Howden, an innovative, energised, and growth-oriented organisation where collaboration truly makes a difference.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues, expand our presence together, and solve complex problems that improve people’s lives.
“I’m looking forward to contributing to the growth.”
Ruth Thomas, partner and head of actuarial consulting at Barnett Waddingham, said: “I’m very happy to welcome Andrew to BW, and excited about what lies ahead.
“I look forward to the impact Andrew will make as we shape the future of Actuarial Consulting and the wider pension consultancy business.
“Andrew’s industry knowledge and particularly, his insight into the Scottish market will be invaluable as we continue to grow our pensions business across all areas.”
