Healix Health, the UK’s only independent healthcare trust provider, has launched its new Precision Cancer Service in partnership with global healthcare solutions provider Further.
The service extends Healix’s existing cancer care pathway and integrates advanced genomic testing with specialist clinical guidance to improve survival rates and deliver measurable cost savings for employers.
By embedding precision medicine into the cancer treatment process, the service aims to ensure employees and their families receive the most effective therapy first time.
Precision medicine has been shown to avoid up to 38% of serious misdiagnoses, reduce treatment costs by 35%, and improve overall survival rates.
Healix said the approach also helps to reduce time away from work, minimise unnecessary side effects, and boost wellbeing and morale among employees.
The Precision Cancer Service is available for a fixed annual fee per principal member, including spouses and dependents.
It supports employees diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 cancer, rare cancers, cancers of unknown primary, and those whose condition has not responded to first-line treatment.
Once activated by the Healix clinical team, genomic testing is carried out by Further, with results assessed by an international panel of precision medicine experts.
Patients then receive a personalised treatment plan, which may include clinical trial opportunities and genetic considerations.
Ian Talbot, CEO at Healix Health, said: “Cancer touches every organisation. It’s no longer rare; it’s a reality for any modern workforce, with nearly a third of private healthcare claims costs now related to cancer.
“While advances in treatment have improved survival rates, they have also introduced new complexities, rising costs and greater expectations.
“This new service is going to make a big difference to the way employers tackle cancer. By combining advanced testing with expert nurse support, the service helps deliver better outcomes for employees, strong engagement and productivity for businesses, and sustainable cost control for employers, while providing compassionate, world-class care at every level.”
